Literature: Contemporary book adaptations

Which literary voices shape our century? Do contemporary books become "classics" at some point? And who draws the line between "high" literature and so-called light literature? Cinematic films are often refreshingly unprejudiced in answering such questions: What sells well as a book also works as a film, or - to put it less pragmatically: A book that tells a good story can, with some probability, also hold its own in the narrative world of film. Our collection gathers "contemporary" materials that are sometimes already modern classics or, thanks to their film adaptation, also invite literary discovery.
